Hello!  I am Anthony Nizzio, creator and co-owner with my wife Kimberly Nizzio, of “One on One Fitness”, Springfield’s very first personal training business.

As Springfield’s “Father” of personal fitness training, I took on the challenge of creating an awareness and acceptance of working with a personal trainer here in our small part of the Midwest.

I have been in love with fitness training and teaching since my own fitness saga began at the Springfield YMCA way back in 1971, within the incredibly hot basement furnace room.  I was twelve at the time.

Four of the toughest years of my life were spent studying fitness at Western Illinois University where I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in 1990.  While struggling at WIU I did some personal training; however, “One on One Fitness” was officially created in the summer of 1987.  I trained my clients at the Springfield YMCA and in their homes.

My intensive karate training began in 1982 under the guidance and teaching of Karate master Ron Rollins.  Achieving my second-degree (NIDAN) black belt instructor’s degree in the two styles of Shuri-Ryu and Goju-Ryu deepened my love for teaching fitness.

One on One Fitness has grown tremendously over these past years from my very small beginnings with a dozen or so steady clients to our now serving 100 to 150 clients each week in two facilities. 

Our sincere goal and intention at One on One Fitness is to assist as many people of the Springfield and surrounding areas to reach their personal fitness and wellness goals as quickly and safely as possible in an atmosphere of positive care and motivation.

We do this through continuous client education, support, and motivation.
